The Alberta Medical Association is currenting recruiting for an Advisor, Measurement and Evaluation to join our Accelerating Change Transformation Team (ACTT). This is a temporary position to March 31, 2026 with possibility for extension.

ACTT Overview

The AMA Accelerating Change Transformation Team (ACTT) supports physicians and other team members, improve care within their practice environments. We work with physician leaders, clinic teams and health system partners across the province to simplify, support, and scale provincial healthcare transformation projects and innovation. 

ACTT is a program within the AMA serving the system and physicians in their collective pursuit of better care for Albertans; funding is provided by Alberta Health as part of the Physician Support Programs under the AMA/AH agreement. Please see our web page for more information on AMA ACTT.

Position Overview

As an Advisor with ACTT, you will support the program’s initiatives and projects based on your specialized expertise in Measurement and Evaluation. You will support continuous quality improvement, determine effective methods of data collection, participate in benchmarking development, and provide integrated statistical data and trend analysis to support evidence-based decision-making.

Along with the above, this position gives you the opportunity to:

  • Conduct multi-method developmental and summative evaluations for ACTT work and projects.
  • Complete literature reviews to identify effective approaches and to inform evaluation frameworks and project contributions.
  • Support the analysis of data using appropriate methods and statistical techniques and present findings in multiple, accessible forms.
  • Provide evidence-based subject matter expertise and support to ACTT projects and initiatives on effective methods of data collection, benchmarking, and indicator development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external partners.
  • Interpret findings and provide recommendations.
  • Participate in the development of tools and resources to support the needs of multiple projects within your areas of expertise.
  • Lead and deliver projects that align with subject matter expertise.
  • Participate in evaluation to inform development and implementation of products and resources.
  • Support data collection to inform project evaluation and measurement.

Working in a matrix project environment, the Advisor will be comfortable moving among project teams and multiple reporting lines, while managing multiple deliverables.

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Economics, Sociology, Statistics, Evaluation, Health Sciences, or related field.
  • Five to seven years’ experience within:
  • Designing evaluation frameworks, logic models, data collection tools, surveys and questionnaires.
  • Synthesizing information from multiple sources and communicating/collaborating with diverse professional stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Knowledge and experience implementing research (qualitative and quantitative), evaluation, and statistical analysis methodologies, as well as performance standards and monitoring measures.

Skills

  • Research, conceptual, and problem-solving skills required to design and manage implementation of complex program evaluation, quality improvement and impact assessment projects.
  • Must have effective written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to tailor materials, especially complex information and analysis, into terms that can be understood by various audiences.
  • Strong knowledge and application of project management principles.
  • Focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and providing timely, quality service.
  • Demonstrate excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Models respect and transparency by being open, acting with integrity, sharing resources / knowledge across project delivery teams.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to work within a changing environment.
  • Ability to work in a matrix team environment is essential.

The salary for this role is $86,246 - $112,121 per annum.
